Should the government be able to keep secrets and hide them from the people?
i don't think the idea of hiding whats going on in the world is good, but i think it should be done in order to keep the people safe and keep them from going crazy. For example, if we find out a "secret" and we don't like what the government is doing, people will protest and make a huge deal about it. Like over in Iraq, if the united states people did not know that there was fighting over there, we would feel betrayed. Also, there are the people that are totally against fighting and there's the people that think violence will make them more structured. Keeping the info away from the people would just make them upset and if they find out, it will make them more upset.

Yes, but if the government is open and honest to the American people, it could potentially avoid all of the getting upset. And, if the people are aware of what the government wants to do, they could have a say in what the government plans to do.
